What is this all about?

Lower Tancredston Farmhouse is the main 'residence' for the Wade family in Tancredston, Hayscastle, Pembrokeshire. It has been empty for over 2 years and finally a builder has been selected (Mark Roberts) for the entire renovation project. This blog is the story (with photos) of the renovation.

The house is being ripped apart

The builders are not in the house during the weekends, so took advantage of no dust/men in hi-viz jackets/loud music (!) and ventured inside.  It is amazing how much progress has been made.  Literally walls have disappeared and the kitchen is so much bigger with the chimney removed.
The dining room with walls stripped
and ceiling exposed.  The floor tiles
will be taken up and used in the hall

Now the kitchen chimney has been removed
(I was standing where the old back stairs were),
you can see upto the back bedrooms.

From the kitchen towards the old pantry on the left
and the dining room on the right.

  1. Hi, Ali - what a change already! At least your workers are somewhat clean, as workers go! Will your dining room have exposed beams when it is all done? I am enjoying your updates. Thank you for sharing them. hugs, de

  2. I love the stonework. Are you going to leave any of it exposed?

Thank you for your wonderful comments. I read and treasure them all.
